Makeup artist must always act professional at all times and provide a high quality service. This means providing excellent service. The standard of service you provide will determine your reputation. If a client receives a high standard of serice they will more than likely want to work with you again and reccommend your service to others.

Professionalism means providing a good service though awareness of the job role, products your image and the skills you provide. The makeup industry is well linked and is sometimes about who you know. This is a great way to gain jobbs via networking. Getting your face known

As a makeup artist you need to be easy to talk to, reliable, friendly, cheerful, approachable, empathic thoughful and discreet. You must have excellent commincation skills, professional image. As well as good application skills and background knowledge. It is very important to be professional and have an approachable image. This will make your model trust and have confidence within you as a makeup artist.

You must always check and gain the clinets concent before any procedures are carried out. Always act in the clients best interest. Make sure you follow all work place procedures, legislation and regulations. You should always acknowledge contraindications and seek medical advice when needed.
