Task 3: Burberry London A/W 14-15

Burberry A/w 14 15 had a very artistic floaty romantic feel. The designs were colourful pretty and floral. The collection also included wool, winter blanket coats and warm knits. The feel of the collection was travelers and based on layering. The show, called The Bloomsbury Girls, took inspiration from the Bloomsbury set and Charleston

The models wore wool blanket ponchos, knitted in soft yellows, reds and blues with the models' monogrammed initials this was a lovely personal touch to the design.

Bold artistic nature-inspired prints were embellished on dresses and silk scarves, silk cotton organdy dresses were hand painted.

It had a real autumn winter warmth unlike some shows which were a lot darker which lots of black and gray. The collection has a softer gentle feeling. Everything was hand painted from the flowers on the bags to shoes.

Makeup

For the Burberry AW14 Campaign Wendy Rowe was the head makeup artist. The inspiration for the campaign was taken from the “Bloomsbury” girl look off the runway. The Bloomsbury were a small intellectual group of artists, writers and thinkers who created a unique bohemian lifestyle in the 20th centry. A groomed brow is a staple look for this Burberry AW collection. The full brow added a strong defined look. Aubergine eye shadow was used across the eyes and underneath on the lower lash line. Beige eyeliner opens the eyes. This Makeup look main focus is the eyes. It is a fresh beautiful classic look. The skin is fresh faced with a radiant glow and the lips have a pink tone lip colour. It is a natural achievable look and gives the idea that the models could attempt this themselves. It is flawless , natural and a beautiful classic finish.

Hair

Neil Moodie was the hairstylist. I think the hair designs work well with the collection as along with the makeup it is natural and achievable. The hair was classic English rose with no fringe and an off center parting. To create the look detangling spray was added to the hair with added oil to give a natural shine then diffused dry to allow the natural texture to show. This feels like there is no products in the hair.Texture spray is added at the end for a matte texture and slight loose curls for added texture in some of the models hair for a bed head look. It again is a wearable look every woman can relate too

As a whole collection every area compliments each other. The clothes, Makeup and hair all have a wearable natural feminine feel. I believe this collection is popular on the catwalk because it is an achievable look. The makeup and hair is effortless yet the look of classic natural beauty. I like the fact the eye makeup is simple with no mascara but yet is the main focus of the look

The AW collection is a glamorous pretty natural finish which i love and is a complete contract to the dramatic beauty which can be seen on the catwalk. This look is a prime example of sometimes less is more.
