Trevor was from Paisley, Scotland. Trevor Sorbie left school at 15 with no qualification and immediately helped with his families barbering business in Essex. Within 3 months of helping he began cutting hair. He then went on to study hairdressing, and it was during this time that he was introduced to Vidal Sassoon, a legend of the hairdressing world.
By 1972, he was a stylist for Vidal Sassoon, Trevor had become a well known name, and went on to work in other established salons such as Toni & Guy and John Frieda in the UK and abroad. He created his own iconic looks, styled hair for big celebrities and captivated other hairdressers with his inspiring hair shows.

Trevor Sorbie has 5 salons in the country. His flagship store is in Covent Garden London. He opened this in 1979. He has had a very successful award winning career including developing his popular product range, various TV appearances as well as being the first hairdresser to receive an M.B.E. from Her Majesty the Queen.

He has worked with the best photographers to create stunning images that elevate hairdressing to an art form. At the heart of the Trevor Sorbie family you will find his Art Team. These are highly talented and creative stylists hand selected by Trevor. They are made up of our newer, up and coming artists. They have been involved at Fashion Shows creating cutting edge catwalk styles or on photo shoots creating amazing images. The Art Team’s work is regularly featured worldwide in the most revered industry and consumer publications and they are regulars backstage at London Fashion Week – having previously worked with designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, David Koma and Jade Kang to name a few.

He Founded the wig personalisation charity 'My New Hair' for cancer patients and alopecia sufferers in 2006. Trevor came up with the idea following his sister-in-law’s struggle with hair loss after cancer treatment, and is dedicated to training other hairdressers on how to customise wigs in order to make this service widely available to everyone.

Trevor launched his product range which is now sold worldwide. His products have always been designed to be highly effective and simple to use. They are high quality giving hair the deep care it needs. Trevor says, “When you use the best ingredients, you get the best results.” I have personally used Trevor Sorbie products. They smell incredible. I myself have very curly hair and I am extremely fussy about the type and quality of products I use in my hair as it is easily damaged through heat styling and can feel crunchy with the wrong products. Trevor Sorbie has a good range of products and I have never had any complaints about them and would recommend the products to others. One of the reasons I find him inspiring is he is also someone who has gained success through hard work and determination this is one of my aspirations.
