Task 2 23-11-2015 Catwalk Eyeliner look Jean Pierre Braganza

Catwalk: Jean Pierre Braganza

Designer: Terry Barber

Trend: Beauty and Damned

1

Holly demonstrated a Catwalk trend which she wanted us to recreated.

For a catwalk look the skin it is essential to prep the skin and make sure it is fully hydrated this gets rid of any dry patches. This helps to create the natural radiance within the skin. when dealing with a models skin don't be affraid to use your fingers. The warmth of the skin helps warm the products into the skin giving a softer look. Before touching the skin make sure your hands and washed and sanitised with anitbacterial

Holly created the demo on just half the models face. Prepping the skin well first to create a dewy fresh look. Once happy with the skin she moved on the the eyeliner. As it is a catwalk look all the models have to look the same but it is essential to adapt the look to the models eye. She created a line in and slightly above the crease so it was visable when the mdiesl eyes were open. She lined the lash line in a rounded effect and finished with the final black line below the lashes. Underneath the black line she then drew a pink line beneath this and blended it downwards.

Products used

Face

MAC face and body N7 and C3

D1, D4 and D5 from the Dermacolor Camouflage palette

Mac strobe cream

Translucent powder Kyrolan

Mac Sculpt

Eyes

Black Track eye liner Mac

Haute and Naughty Mascara Mac

Lady Danger Mac

I Cleansed toned and mosiurised the face

Next i applied strobe cream lightly over the face using a buffing brush

I mixed a combination of MAC face and body N7 and C3 to create my models skin tone. I lightky buffed into the skin using a buffing brush building the product gradually ensure it had a light natural radience

Once i was happy with the foundation covergae i concealed under the eye area using a combination of D4 and D5 from the Dermacolor Camouflage palette. I also used this combination to cover any blemishes and a small amount of D1 and finally around the nose area. I used a consealer brush to apply the product

I powdered the forehead eyes and nose to prevent any shine with kyrolan transulent powder. I wanted to keep the dewy feel so i left the skin on the cheeks unpowdered

I slightly contoured the cheek using MAC Sculpt. I applied the product lightly with a contour brush and gradually built up the color

My next stage was the eyeliner. To do this i pulled the models eyelid gently up to make it slightly taught. This allows more control. using Black Track in drew in the crease. I asked my model to open her eye and adjusted the line as needed. Doing it with the models eye opened helped with accuracy

After the top liner i then lined the eye bottom and top lashes making sure it was rounded

About 5mm under the lash line i drew a line slightly curved as seen in the demo

Underneath the bottom eyeliner line i added the pink lipstick line. I blended the line slightly downwards so it is not a harsh line

My makeup is the left of Robyns face Hollys makeup is the right

I added a layer of MAC Mascara to bring out the lashes and define the eye

I finsihed the look with lip balm for a suttle finish

Evaluation

Out of all my lessons this Current trends lesson was the lesson i have struggled with the most. It was a very challenging task for me as Eyeliner is my weakest skill. I feel a lot more confident with the overall finish of the skin however my biggest struggle and weakest point is eyeliner and this look for very much eyeliner focused.

Comparing my eye to the image and Holly's i can see i need to make some improvements. My lower lash eye liner line is too far down from the lashes also i wasn't happy with the shape of line. Mine is too straight and slants downwards. Symmetry is so important with these looks. Also my eyeliner crease line needs to be slightly higher beacause when Robyns eye is open it is difficult to see the liner. I felt very proud of my skin coverage and this is a skill i am becoming more confident with. For this look i feel i could have added a slightly darker contour to add warmth to the skin.

Overall the skin i was happy with the eyeliner i was slightly disapointed.
