Task 2 24-11-15 Heated Equipment

Today in hair our task was to perfect our blow drying skills and the use of electrical equipment. I decided to practice my curly blow dry as this is something i really struggle with I was not happy with my achievements this lesson. It did not go to plan however i didn't give up and tried to complete the look.

I struggle with the concept of the curly blow dry. My main issue was I struggled with the hairbrush. I found the round bristle brush got stuck in the hair even though i continuoulsy tired to keep the brush moving. A curly blow dry is something i need to perfect. They were many things i would like to change. Firstly i would make sure the curl was more defined i would achieve this by repeating the technique more times. Secondly i would make sure the hair was smooth and shinny. I felt that my hair style was extremely messy. Thridly i need to improve on my timing. All i feel all i managed to achieve this lesson was a messy curly blow dry with no shine or structure

I began by washing and conditioning my head

Next i sectioned my head into 4 fairly even sections

Starting from the nape of the neck i horizontally blow dried the hair from the center and continued the process until the whole head was dry and curly

This was the best curl i managed to achieve using the Hair dyer

Today i have improved with my speed as i did manage to complete a whole head however i was not happy. Apart from one or two stands it is not what i would call a curly blow dry. The hair had volume and a slight wave at the end but this is not a professional standard at all
