Practising my final look Tanya Taylor SS15

This was my first Tanya Taylor SS15 Practice. I was extremly happy with the lip shape of the look however not the colour. I need to make sure i have a higher pigmentation orange lip for my assesment day. For my practise i used a mixture of Kiko number 5 Mac Lady danger amd Mac red and a small amount of the PAM Orange concealer. Before applying the lip colour i drew on the outline of the lip using MAC Ruby woo

Next i applyed Mac Lady danger however this wasn't dark enough so i applied the PAM CH.2 i was still not happy and added Kiko Number 5 on the top

Highlight

I used a mixture of both of these products Topshop Glow in Glam and polished for my highlighter. It works especially well on darker skin without making it look ashy. It is an amzing product and i would highly recommend buying it. Today was my first time using the product and i loved it. Especialy the finish on the skin

For the skin coverage i used NW50 all over the models face. This look does not require any contour only highlight

Step by Step

I started by cleansing toning and moisturing my models face using Kaeso products

Once it was fully prepped i began the foundation. Unsing MAC Pro longwear NW50 i buffed the porduct in to the skin using a buffing brush ensuring i had a good but light coverage

I used NW25 to concealer slightly under the eye area around the nose and around the mouth. Making sure it was well blended i used my buffing brush with a small amount of the NW50

Now happy with the skin i applied the highlighters a mixture of topshop glow: gleam and polished. I applied to the cheeks nose and under the eye area with a small concealer brush. I used my fingers to help the product warm and blend then finished with my buffing brush.

I applied Sleek highligher over the whole lid and added the orange on top for warmth

To the lashes i added minimal mascara Mascara Mac Haute and naughty mascara

Moving on to the lips i lined with Mac Ruby woo

Next i appliedac Pro lip palette a mixture of Lady Danger and Mac Red and PAM Concealer Shade CH2 .

I was not still happy with the colour so applied a mixture of kiko number 5 and Pam to strangthen the colour.

My look is now complete but i feel i did not have the correct lip colour

For my overall finish i was extremly happy. The model i was paired with for today unfortunatly wasn't in the lesson so i was paired with Rosa for today. We have now decided to use each other for the final assesment next week so i am now feeling more confident as i have had chance to practice. I am not confident with black skin and always find it a challenge however after today i am extremly happy. I felt i had excellent skin coverage my only worry was i need to make sure i blend the products underneath the eye area as it slightly built up in the crease and again as with a few of my looks work on concealing the under eye area

I was happy with my eyes as like the Tanya Taylor 15 look it is suttle. I had to adapt my product use because the orange pigment did not show up on Rosa's skin tone so i added a lighter pigment first from the sleek pallete i then put the orange on top to warm the eyes. Using this method allowed the product colour to be visable

I had amazing lips to work with which helped alot. I enjoy applying lipstick to the lips. I was happy with the shape however i feel i need to find a more suitable product for my look. It was not pigmented enough when applying makeup to darker skin tones the product needs to be alot warmer. Compared to the Tanya Taylor image my lips are very underpigmented . Overall i am happy i have choosen to recreate Tanya Taylor SS15 and i am looking forward to next week. I have decided for next week i will recreate the lips differtently and apply the kiko Lip stick first. I do not really want to use the concealer again as i feel it left the lips looking caking which is not what i wanted. I will work on building the colour intensity.
