Holly did a demo today on the Pat Mcgarth inspired makeup from 2012 fahion week for Christian Dior. She began by applying a cream base to the lid for a daker base. Next she applied vaseline to the area. She pat glitter on the lid starting with a silver she the built it up with Mac Black 3D glitter. Holly applied the glitter with a flat brush allowing her to build and pack the product. Next using her fingers she applied larger bits of glitter and also sequines sticking them with Duo eyelash glue individually. To finish she applied to the centre of the lid and brow area to give the make up a blended appearance

I started this look but placing masking tape this is to create a sharpe straight line. I placed the tape so it create a straight line starting from the outer corner of the eye

I covered the lid with Mac Full coverage foundation to act as a cream base

I applied vaseline to the lid and along the tape line and up towards the hairline and brows

My next step was to pat on the black Pigment. To ensure this was a deep black I used Mac Carbon to create more depth. Then on to this I added MUA which has a slight glitter pigment. I used Mac Taupe to blend the outer edges of the black so it faded away.

Then I used gold glitter and started by applying it from the centre of the lash and along the tape line and up towards the hairline. I gradually built up the glitter and created a blend

Using Duo eyelash glue I applied silver sequins in a v shape. I also added a few random gold specs so it wouldn't look as blunt and apprear more blended

For the face I used a combination of Mac face and body C1 and C3. I concealed under the eyes with D4 and under a slight highlight to the under eye area and cheeks using NW15

I powdered the T-zone with Kryolan Translucent powder

I applied Ruby woo lip liner all over the lip and lined and I used ??

Next I used Mac sculpt to Contour and Mac Shimmer Highlight. To finish I added Soap and Glory shimmer highlight to cheek bones to finish my look .

I didn't feel that happy about my final look. I feel I could have been stronger in contrast with the gold and black which would have given more of a impact. I would of like to have built up the gold glitter. I was happy with the sharpness of the line and was very effective. My model already has lash extensions so I was unable to use fake eyelashes. I believe this would of added a dramatic impact to my final makeup image. I was happy with my skin coverage this is an area I feel confident in. I also liked my lip colour

As i wasn't happy at all i practiced this look again on myself and i feel alot happier. Glitter is a fairly new medium to me but i enjoy working with a think it looks especially good in a photograph
