Term 3 Warrior Fashion
My main inspiration for my Warrior Amazon women is Alexander McQueen. The image below was his showcase AW 2010 Collection. I feel this image will fit in extremely well with my theme.
I have decided I want to create a faux Mohawk using hair to add height and dramatic effect I am going to add feathers
I want my design to have edge rather than the pretty girly image I normally create. This is completely out of my comfort zone
This was an extremely emotional and touching season. The last ever collection by the fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who died last month aged 40, has been unveiled at Paris fashion week
This collection was shown at Paris Fashion week. An extraordinary display of his incredible talent, the looks we were presented with could have been created as a museum piece. The models’ heads had been bandaged and moulded with leaf or feathered Mohicans that were sprayed stiff with gold and black paint.
Every piece was exquisite. It was very much inspired by handcraft and the idea that in a way in our culture there’s the loss of the artisan, the loss of people doing things with their hands and making beautiful artisanal clothing or carvings or paintings or sculptures. The collection only included 16 pieces These were the looks that the design team felt McQueen had 80% finished before he tragically died four weeks ago. This collection was different to his usual showcases. There were none of the spectacular theatrics and high technology drama a McQueen show usually entails.

2010 MTV VMAs: The Good, The Bad, And The Just Plain Odd
Lady Gaga is always known for making an entrance. She wears a gold feather headpiece by Alexander McQueen for the 2010 MTV awards. Lady Gaga was breath-taking, the McQueen ensemble was a moving tribute to the designer (her friend) who passed away at the beginning of the year
The Mohawk was simple yet effective complimented the outfit

Dark aged inspired fashion
Balmain SS 2010
The shoulder detail and gold colour is what really inspires me as a warrior costume. The metallic colours
With that inspiration, the palette was understandably yet surprisingly dark for a SS collection with lots of black, olive, gold and brown. These are the colour theme I want to work with. The designer Christophe Decarnin’s didn’t stray far from his trademark looks which are exaggerated shoulders, glitz and hard-edged touches even though his inspiration was Mad Max meets military
